Two generations working together. One visual identity for both of them.

The story

T.G Kommatas is a boutique Greek law firm, founded in 1987, which specializes in the areas of commercial, employment, energy and real estate law, with a client base made up of local and international companies. It has been nominated two times as Greek Employment Law Firm of the Year 2010 and 2012. Some years ago the second generation joined the business and an updated logo was needed to portray a new sense of change and evolution.

Branding – Web Design

The logo

We all know how strict and firm the legal industry can be. But we, at S & Team, believe that creativity goes with everything. It also goes with “suit and tie businesses”. So we developed a discreet yet powerful logo with a contemporary look. The vertical line icon represents upward movement whereas its height and formality suggest dignity and stability. The icon is basically made of two lines, one for each generation that connect to form one solid, vertical line. The brand’s palette was carefully selected to complement the firm’s personality, while the typeface deliberately lies somewhere between modern and old style.

The website design

Most law firm websites use stereotypical images of women/men dressed in suits, scales of justice and loads of “been there done that” kind of things. Fortunately, we were all on the same page. Our client didn’t want any of these. We all wanted a clean, simple and minimal website design that would focus on the heart of the matter; on the firm’s areas of expertise and respective case studies with a lot of whitespace (too revolutionary for legal industry standards!).
